We made these last night for dinner. It was pretty simple, and tasted pretty darn good.

Appley – Raisiny – Pork Choppy Pork Chops

Cook Time: 1 hour, 10 minutes

Total Time: 1 hour, 10 minutes

  • 8 pork chops – “I used 3 thick chops instead of 8, and it still worked fine”.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 apples, cored and sliced, “just about any apple will do”
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup hot water – “maybe 2 if the sauce gets too thick”
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1/2 cup raisins

– Sprinkle pork chops with salt, and pepper then brown in hot oil. Just brown the chops to
seal in moisture. They will finish in the oven.

– Once browned, place in baking dish and top with apple rings.

– Add flour to fat in skillet and blend well.

–  Add water, brown sugar, and vinegar. Cook until thick. “Mine got REAL thick so I added more water to loosen it up a little.

– Add raisins and pour over chops, bake, uncovered, in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour.

Serves 8. “Or three”
